2008 Year in Review!

Figured I best get my "Year in Review" post done while it's still the first week of January!

Here goes:

• In January we added to our tiny family. No baby... but Pork Chop has become the center of attention!
• I told you 100 random things about me. Now if you wanted to know that or not... well I don't judge!
• Holy cow... NKOTB Reunion Tour? Is it for real?
• I told you all about why everyone should have a Delicious account... but I still haven't been told what your username is so I can't tell what it is that you're saving that I may be interested in so you should be getting back to me...
• I officially became a Thompson.
• Lisa, Rod, Jerome and I went to see Katt Williams in February.
• Pork Chop was reacquainted with his long lost brother Spike.
• I started doing the Org Junkie's Monthly round up... but then quit going back. It was a good idea... but it didn't last too long :(
• I thought I hit my excitement level for the year when I heard that the Dollar Tree was opening up a block away from our house... boy was I wrong.
• We had a Super Fat Tuesday.
• It's official... The Block was coming back.
• You know I grew up in the 80's but I thought I'd remind you that you did too.
• Brett left us... but then came back... oh wait... not back to us... WTF?
• Porks passed his puppy class with flying colors...
• Dumpster Days were kinda a bust this year... the weather did not cooperate. But... we did get a few things that we will be using... or selling.
• I started another blog... hehehehehe :)
• My addiction started in May to Facebook... yeah... I'm there... still there... will be there.
• We had our 2nd Annual Garage Sale. Can't wait for next year!
• I went to the emergency room and got stitches this year. Mind you I haven't had stitches since Chris threw me off the teeter totter in like 2nd grade!
• Porks made his first long car trip to Gramma and Grampa's house.
• I stalked Brittney and Jamie Lynn in Mississippi along with Tyler Perry.
• I had to use my ghetto phone for far too long... but it made me not go to NYC to not see NKOTB.
• I became sorta a Media Super Star for a few weeks for being such a Blockhead, and yeah... I was the first in line at MOA... WHAT?
• Laney turned one along with Tink.
• I, yes I, made new friends in 2008 :) Hey girlies!
• We finally got family photos taken - we have never had one done of all of us. Not even at our wedding!
• I went to Chicago to visit Mel, Eric and Nicole and yes... took in my first NKOTB full concert since 1994. Yeah I saw them another two times... WHAT? They're back :) October was offically renamed Blocktober in my book.
• Porky turned a year old.
• Everyone knows the name Barack.
• I had another great year for Black Friday shopping.
  

So I didn't set a New Year's resolution.Sue me.

I use to set a New Year's resolution. Lose weight. Eat healthier. Drink more water. Do the dishes every other day instead of letting them pile up until I don't have any forks. Yeah those.

Now that I've finally not set a resolution I don't have any goals for the year... Well... I can't do it. I need a resolution. I've decided I would choose one that I can actually accomplish.

Purge.

That's my resolution. I plan to purge our house... everything in the house needs to have a purpose... and not one that is "I'll need that some day". I think of the three curling irons that I have. The last time I used a curling iron... was... ummmm... let me think. I have no idea. Sure, some day I may have bangs again and want to do mall bangs. I could save one curling iron and sell the others at my "ANNUAL" garage sale. (Oh did you see that? I see resolution #2 there!)

Yep, I'm thinking I may do an annual garage sale. With the positive sale we had this past summer how could I not?

Jeeeze... what is in the water that I am apparently not drinking?

I suck...

So I messed up and forgot to mention Miss Nicole, Melba Duke's daughter. So... this post I dedicate just to her...

A year ago today....

Yes it's been one year since Jerome and I got engaged today! Wow what a year.

• I started some little ol' blog
• We registered at two places.
• I became an eBay freak.
• Nicole got ordained to do our wedding.
• We moved out of our tiny tiny apartment into our house July 4th weekend.
• Jerome's daughter graduated High School.
• Lisa got engaged
• My blog got spammed, thus all the extra comments you see on some of these posts.
• I had two bridal showers and a get together with Jerome's co-workers.
• My computer crashed.
• Our basement flooded.
• I changed email addresses.
• We planned a wedding that went "a little off".
• Jerome's cousin was on CSI.
• Our basement was remodeled.
• We planned our honeymoon.
• I found out what home ownership was all about.
• Trisha had another baby
• We rolled a big screen TV all the way home.
• We went on our honeymoon.
• And the whole time I stayed active in Pampered Chef!
