MSP to Miami, Florida Sunday, November 26

We woke early on Sunday morning after a night of restless sleep. The night before we put most of the luggage in the car so we would be ready to go bright and early.

We jumped in the car and drove to the light rail station. We dropped off the car in the secure lot of my job where it would be checked on by the security guards. We pulled all the luggage out of the car and drug them to the light rail station. We purchased our tickets and waited. And waited... in the cold. And waited. Finally the light rail arrived and we jumped on. Of course though we were flying out of the smaller terminal and the light rail doesn't stop there as it is under construction. So we rode it to the main terminal and took a shuttle back to the small terminal.

We went into the airport to get our boarding passes. They asked if we cared what seat we had for our flight. We were able to get two seats in the isle next to each other. Too bad we had three people in each of our rows. Ughhh...

When the flight attendants came threw they let us know that there were seats up front where we could be more comfortable and still be across from each other. We took them in the blink of the eye. Ends up the other people in our rows were passed out asleep on the window. What luck!

The flight was pretty good and we even got a breakfast sandwich on the plane. I didn't expect that by any means. Not to shabby.

When we arrived to Miami, Hobbit Travel was there to meet us and direct us around. We gathered our luggage off of the luggage carousel and walked outside to our shuttle bus. We jumped on the bus and we drove to the boat... ship... vessel.

There were so many ships and so many buses everywhere down there. We got into line like everyone else. We were in line to get thru customs, our first photo taken, and to receive our sail and sign pass... which... for those of you who haven't been on a cruise with Carnival is your right of life on the ship. You need it to get into your room, to order a soda, to purchase anything at the gift ships, to get off the boat, to get on the boat... EVERYTHING.

Once we got into the boat we went straight to the bar and purchased our fountain card. It's a card that we could use to get sodas throughout the entire trip that someone had gave us a tip on to purchase. Once that was done we went to our room to see how tiny it was. It wasn't that bad. It would work.

We changed into our carry on clothes and headed up to get some lunch. I was so hungry but nothing looked good. I didn't want a salad after what Lisa told me from her experience. I couldn't find the 24/7 burger bar. I didn't want what was there. So I got a banana. Jerome on the other hand had no problems finding some lunch.

As soon as we sat down around 4 pm there was a message playing over the loud speaker telling us that there was a mandatory drill that all passengers needed to participate in. Basically we had to go find our room again, find the life vests that were in our room in a closet, then not us an elevator to get back up to the deck that had the lifeboats on and stand there. Just in case there were any problems we would know exactly what we had to do. So we did just that.

We checked back at our room to see if our bags had arrived yet... but they hadn't. We put the life jackets away and went to discover the ship.

We were set up to eat at the late dinner. We got there right on time and sat down at our table where there was already another couple sitting there. They were pretty nice and from North Carolina I think. We chatted about cruising and such. There were still room for two more couples to sit at the table but no one arrived.

The matradee came over and asked us if we wanted to switch tables to one down stairs that was next to a window. We thought nothing of it and agreed since it had a window. How great that would be, right?!??! We wrapped up the night with our waitstaff of EE, Rolando and Victoria. EE was very friendly... loved her!

After dinner we went back to our room and found our luggage. There was a comedian that night that we went to named Mike Macy. He was pretty good. When we returned to our room we had our first turn down service and a new friend in our bed :)
