Sorry it's been so long...
So our first full day of spring came and went... strange to me that it snowed like crazy that day. The proof is in the photos I guess...

Easter Sunday Jerome and I went to Lisa's mom's house for a ham lunch with Lisa's husband, Lisa's brother and her grandmother. It was good time... even though they were late as usual! Come on guys!Pork Chop is growing by leaps and bounds. He went in for his boosters and rabies shots. He weighed in at 17.4 pounds! When Spike went in for his appointment he was only 14 even. I'd say we definitely got our Pork Chop!
That's about it... with the exception of one more thing...

Katt and friends...
Ends up that Lisa and Rod were running late too... so late that they didn't make it to dinner. We had the Buffalo wings - yum. Jerome had the Southwestern Shrimp and Chicken Fettuccine - dang good. This was actually what I was going to get, but then he said he wanted it... I let him have it! Instead, I had the Brewer's Club - turkey, ham, bacon with melted cheddar and Monterrey jack, tomato and lettuce on ciabatta bread. Delish too!
Rod and Lisa arrived as we were paying the bill... perfect timing. We headed to our seats in the State Theatre. We were in row Q... needless to say any seat in the State Theatre would be good... we were just in front of the balcony though. Lisa and I both made a remark that we felt like we were on a cruise ship at the nightly entertainment.
The show started late - a half hour. First was a male rapper who calls himself Klutch. He pretty much sucked since we were there for comedy... not a rap show.
Then there was another rapper. This one was female and calls herself Xplicit Lyric. She shouted out here myspace page and of course I caught it....
Then there were two female comedians. The first... I can't remember her name was HELL-ARI-OUS... so much so that Jerome had tears coming down! She had great "jokes". The other... was good... but she herself was funny... not really her jokes. Here's a YouTube video that I found of her and another. Here's one that I took with my camera phone.
There was a guy who was the introducer of all of these people and Katt Williams. He was alright too. Then... the big gun came out. He was pretty good. I was glad to see that he had a new "skit" instead of the ones that I've seen on DVD. Unfortunately he spent a ton of time on the election... here's a YouTube video of him doing a similar skit.
Here's a few videos that I took... of course, not that great of quality due to it being on my camera phone... watch out for naughty lingo as well...
We left after the show for home... let the pup out and went to bed. The next day, Friday, we were going to be doing some running around and waiting for the Monty Crew to arrive.

Katt Williams TONIGHT
So I realized it's Thursday and I haven't posted since last Thursday... I'm so bad! Actually I've been busy and haven't had the time. I've also had a little cold kickin' my arse but it's on it's way out. This brought to my attention that I also haven't had a blogroll yet this week. I know I know. Tonight we are going to see Katt Williams with Lisa and Rod. I hope it's a great show... now with that being said, this weeks blogroll isn't really a blog... more of a website.
Who: Katt WilliamsWhat: Comedian
Where: http://www.kattwilliams.com/
Why: There is some pretty funny stuff on there. Ohhhhhh I can't wait.
Plus, tomorrow the Crew is coming out way so we will have a very full house!

Pork Chop meets Spike
Thursday, January 31, 2008
Dinner away.
Apparently Rod thought we were going to cuss them out. Being that they were the reason why we even knew about Pork Chop. That we were drinking when we called to set up the appointment and perhaps we were a bit too tipsy to have good judgment about getting a puppy. Rod must have thought he's been a bad puppy. But, that's not the case. He's a very good puppy.
We got to talking about how Pork Chop is a full 2 lbs heavier than Spike. I had to laugh at that. I knew when we saw him that he was bigger... I just didn't know how much bigger he was! They asked what we were feeding him... same Puppy Chow that they're feeding Spike.
They made a few comments about his sweater. Sounds like Spike will be getting something too soon. And of course, they asked about his collar. They thought there were rhinestones in it or something... Not the case... it's just got a reflective string of thread in it that shows up in pictures.
We talked about how they are very different puppies. Spike still sleeps on his back. Whereas Pork Chop can not stand to be on his back and sleeps in a ball. How Pork Chop is still learning to go to the bathroom on papers and Spike is going outside by himself. How when Pork Chop steps in his mess his feet get wiped off and Spike's got to get his feet clean in the snow before he can come back in.
It was a good time. At one point I looked around and noticed that I was the only one eating. Here everyone else had finished their plate and was waiting till we stopped talking to get food. No one wanted to miss a topic.
I can't wait till we can have a play date with the pups!

Wassup?!?!
Last night Jerome and I went out with Lisa and Rod for dinner... of course we hit up the crab legs at the buffet. Then we ended up heading out for the night to a club - yes... you heard me... a club. Needless to say I'm pretty sure we were the oldest people in there. Come to find out we think it was an 18+ night... ick. I felt dirty and out of place. Interesting club though...
Today we rolled over to St. Paul to visit with Anna. While we were gone we were using the self cleaning feature on our stove. When we came home we hoped to still have the house standing! We came home and the stupid thing was still running. Guess someone didn't set the timer... wooops! I called mom to figure out how to shut it off and now it's spic and span!
I watched a pretty hilarious movie tonight while Jerome was watching football...I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry. If you haven't seen it yet go directly to redbox and rent it!!!

Storm August 2007
Holy Cats!
So Friday night we had JST over for the night. We ran to the grocery store to pick up something for dinner and walked away with $100 worth of grocery - surprise surprise. We watched a movie and just hung out until we decided to head to bed. We were asleep in our house when for some reason I awoke. It was 3am. Outside there was flashes of lighting - but no lighting bolts - just the sky was light up like daylight. I nudged Jerome and told him to move the car that was on the lawn since it looked like it was going to rain. He got up in a dash and tossed on some shorts and headed outside.
I figured I would take a look at what was outside to see if I really wanted to deal with it getting wet since we were having a Block Party Saturday afternoon. Off came the cushions of the chairs and we tossed the carpet pieces into the garage.
When that was done I went inside and turned on the TV to watch the weather channel. It stated that we were going to get some high winds (50-60 mph) and there was a sever thunderstorm warning. And then it happened... the TV cut off along with the fans, air, lights, clocks... you name it. The power was out.
It's kinda funny that JST had made the remark before heading to bed that there was a flash light in her room! Good thing as we needed it. We found the other flash light and I light some candles. I just stayed watching the rain since it's been so long since we've had some like this.
It started to rain and the winds picked up. I went downstairs to check the window/wall in the laundry room... sure enough there was a leak. A bad leak. It was spurting out of the window well. Ughhhh. I grabbed the dirty towels from the laundry and started sopping up the mess. I ran upstairs to get the mop.
Jerome woke JST up and told her that it was cooler the basement to go and sleep downstairs. Which, we all did after having a quick snack and chat. (Gotta love having an 8 month pregnant person in the house!)
I called the electric company and their machine stated that we should have power by 8am. Fine and good - we don't really need it while we sleep downstairs. We woke up at 9am or so, with no power. I called the electric company again. Now, it stated that we may not have electricity until end of day Tuesday. WHAT?!?!?!?! ugh.
There was a pretty good sized branch in the middle of the road from the tree that recently lost big branches when Monty Crew was at our house last. We had twigs and a few branches in the yard but nothing major. I figured we better check the gutters since I noticed a few of our neighbors up in theirs. Sure enough it was packed. I got to cleaning it out.
Since we had no power, we didn't dare go in the fridge for long. And, with an electric stove now we had to cook our bacon, eggs, and grits on the grill! It was kinda fun, until we realized that both of our cars were in the garage - that has an electric opener.
JST's mom and sisters came to pick her up and take her back to the land of A/C and TVs. We of course stayed in our "campsite". I called Lisa and asked if she had power. Sure enough she did, so I asked if we could bring over stuff from our deep freezer and our fridge/freezer. I packed up the two coolers and we were on our way. We hung out there until about 3 pm when we left for our Block Party, that we weren't even sure if it was still going to go on.
I set out two chairs and a table out front and brought the charcoal grill around front too. We figured we could grill up some of this chicken from the freezer for the party... and figured other people may want to too.
We hung out with Denise and her daughter and a few of the other neighbors showed up too. We ended up going to Denise's garage to "congregate" and stay dry as it decided to rain again.
We headed home and went to the basement to sleep. I'm starting to feel the pains of not sleep in my bed... the floor and that couch are not cutting it. Ughhh. I awoke this morning hoping we would have electricity... not the case. So, today, we headed over to Anna's where we are BBQing up the last of the meat that we kept.
I'm sure I'll be calling into my renter's insurance this coming week. Wonder if they will cover everything????
We went around the neighborhood to find out that about 5 block south of us many large trees were down, along with power lines and electric poles snapped in half. We took pictures, but I'm not sure when I'll be able to load them here.
And by the way, I am not cracked up for this whole camping thing!

Weekend in review
Saturday morning Jerome and I awoke and started picking up the house. My sister and her two kids were on their way back home after visiting with mom and dad and heading for Chicago for the weekend for a wedding. The had a layover at the airport here and we weren't sure if we were going to be heading out for lunch or making it at our house... so... of course we picked up a little. Ends up that we headed to AppleBee's for lunch.
I had the Aloha Burger. YUM-O! I totally have a thing for pineapple. I love it. Especially since going to Cancun, Mexico and having fresh pineapple every morning. Jerome had a Chicken Strip platter, Tammy had some sort of salad and the kids... well of course had hamburgers and chicken fingers!
AKT, my niece and godchild, (and the flower girl that didn't make it down the isle at our wedding) managed to drop her bottle of beer on the floor which happens... no biggie but of course she cried. Poor girl. She's getting so big!
ALT, my oldest niece, was a barrel of fun! She sat next to me which was nice, I was able to poke and tickle her while we waited for our food to come. Jerome had the camera and took plenty of pictures I would guess, but I don't think I looked at them!
The bill came and we left. I was taking them back to the airport. Stupid me, instead of getting on Hwy 5 to the airport didn't get off the ramp and ended up taking them on 494. I hope they weren't too late. I didn't get a call so I assume they made their flight. SORRY AGAIN!
Once I left the airport and returned home I jumped in bed for a quick nap as we were going to a party Saturday night. Last weekend at the birthday BBQ at Lisa's house we were invited to E's house for his birthday bash. Lisa gave me the heads up that it could be an all nighter - aka leave at 6am kind of party... thus the nap Saturday afternoon. We had a good time at E's and even watched an HBO boxing fight on the the projection screen that was attached to the back of his house... I wish I had taken a picture!
Sunday we woke up and headed out for breakfast. I had been craving pancakes. Yes, pancakes. I wanted Denny's fluffy pancakes. Scary I know. So off we went, plus we had a $5 off coupon for there!
After breakfast we went home and were gathering items to go to Anna's house. She had purchased at mirror from our garage sale that she needed hanging but didn't have a stud finder. So I took Jerome, ha ha ha... (stud finder). No really, we went and hung up the mirror in her kitchen/dining room.
Once that was finished we headed to Lisa and Rod's to pick up the battery charger for the car (the bucket). Apparently there is something going on with the battery of my old car... I don't know I don't drive it but Jerome does. I headed in for a quick nap while dozing off to the TV while Jerome was outside.
We did end up slapping some paint on the wall Sunday night to see if we liked the color... I have a feeling I'll be painting the rest tonight... I like!
That's about it. C-ya later!

Garage Sale Weekend has come and gone...
Wednesday night my co-work MV came over to drop off some kids clothes and a few other things for my sale. As she set up her goodies I kinda took a break. I skipped out on my contact fitting appointment and set up the tables and such in the garage. When she brought in her items that's when it felt like a true sale.Thursday after work I dropped Jerome off at home while I headed to a happy hour for an old boss. He was canned, or in nice terms laid off from our company a few weeks short of his 10 year mark.... makes you wonder! Anyways, while I was sipping on my single beer Jerome was at home checking things off a list that I had of things to do by the end of the night. How lucky am I that once I got home most of the items were already done! Thanks Hun.
So we set up the sale more and more, figured out what things would be outside, what would remain inside of the garage, etc, etc. I wondered a bit how I was going to do this all by myself in the morning... but, Jerome called in sick on Friday, poor baby was sick. :)
We woke up Friday morning and started setting items up. I put the signs all out around our little neighborhood and grabbed breakfast for us from McDonald's. Stupid McDonald's tried to short us a Hashbrown... how dare they! I had to run back to McDonald's to complain. Soon after breakfast our first customers showed up. It was a long and hot day - we even had the A/C unit that we found during dumpster days going in the garage. So many people wanted to buy it that
we stuck a "not for sale" sign on it! We had a great turn out and plenty of sales. One of our customers was nice enough to tell us that our sign down the street had been knocked down/blown over. Jerome ran down the street to fix it. Even Nicole made a surprise appearance at the sale.It rained Friday night, and Saturday morning there was a ton of fog. I watched the weather and it said that around noon we should be having showers... not the case though! I ran around making sure all of our signs we still standing only to find out the one that had been knocked down the other day to be missing. Yup, I think our neighbors stole it... how awful... and they weren't even home... JERKS!
So I made another one out of scrap wood that we had and set it up on the opposite corner. Another good sale day and a pretty good turn out, but I think Fridays was better. We sold our TV that was in our living room, we tried to load it into the guys car, but it didn't fit. He said he would come back on Sunday to pick it up in his brothers truck.Sunday we sat around... in the heat... burning up. I ran around looking for the signs, now paranoid that our signs were all going to be missing. YUP... one more sign gone. JEEEZE. This time I took a end table that we were trying to sell off and made a sign. Silly me put the arrows on but didn't check the other side... I had arrows going both ways! Ughh... So I had to repaint it.
Anna and Nate showed up in support of the sale. We tried to get Anna to buy anything and everything that we thought she should have. She ended up getting tons of stuff - and all three lamps... wooo hooo no more sitting in the dark! It was a slow day, but then again it was Father's Day (Happy Father's Day Dad!) and a Sunday at that. So we didn't make much of a profit on Sunday and started closing up shop at 3 pm - gathering the other contributors items into piles so they can take them away, moving tables around so maybe we can use 1/2 of the garage for the truck or cars, and bringing the stuff from outside in. We had a few more customers - after all it was 1/2 price day! But I think we were officially closed at 4:30.
All in all we made a pretty good profit. Next year I think we'll be having another one - so start saving your stuff now... but beware, you'll need your own table and I will probably be charging some sort of fee for us sitting there selling your stuff if you aren't there. (This year, not a big deal as there wasn't all that much stuff from others - one of those contributors even tried to make us money with Pull Tabs!)We will be dumpster diving this year and making money off of other peoples trash!!!!
So... 2 signs stolen, 1 pair of earrings stolen, 1 switching of price stickers that was caught, dumpster junk sold for a profit, TV sold at a profit, one McDonald's hashbrown almost missed
... and money made to boot... I'd say was a pretty good run for three days!

It's official... there's a Brand New Mr. & Mrs.

Here's my dinner toast/speech for those of you who care...
Hi Everyone!
I’m Kim, Lisa’s Matron of Honor.
I met Lisa at UW Stout in 1998. She was returning to dorm life after studying abroad in
Lisa had other ideas! She came right in and made herself at home in our dorm room.
Even though I was upset about it in the beginning, I’m now so glad that she was assigned to be my roommate.
The two of us have been through a lot of things…
- Not very long ago Lisa was part of my own wedding party and I couldn’t imagine it without her there
- Then there was the Home Hair Coloring Disaster
- and how we have been known to be driving around and having the car die on us, not once but twice
- We moved out of our parents homes into our first apartment together,
- And we’ve even got tattoos together.
Being thru all of that makes me so happy to know that those are just the beginning of things that we will accomplish together, the good, the bad… and well let’s skip the ugly hair coloring experience okay?
Honestly, Lisa, I’m glad you have found someone who can make you happy.Someone that you can build your life with and grow old with.
Someone that you can share that hair coloring experience with.

Craigslist.com
Well, I've also found our desk on their - it was a moving sale item.
And now I hopefully have someone who has a pick-a-deli for me! I've finally decided that eBay prices for this item is not what I wanted to pay. I also didn't want to host a Tupperware party just to get the one that I want... so .... CraigsList was the answer for me!
I've wanted one of these things ever since I went to Lisa's mom's house while we were in college. Basically you have a container with a lid made out of plastic, with a strainer center. You put all of your pickles from the jar into this container and then pull the strainer up to get the pickles out of the bottom.... GENIUS!
I actually may have found a new customer for PC in all of this to boot! Funny thing actually. Someone had emailed me to tell me they had one. They stated a dollar amount that they wanted and then said that they would also be willing to trade for PC products... well if this wasn't up my alley I don't know what is! So I offered her a trade and am waiting to hear back from her.
A long weekend... finally!
Friday we met with that "fantastic" photographer... ughhh. Needless to say, it was irritating being there. I have the feeling that my tiny home town will soon have a life size mirrol of my husband on the walls of the local photography place just because he's not pasty white. Yup I said it. I also think that the reason why the lady is so short with us is because she really doesn't like the "idear" of us being married... me being of the pasty white variety. I also think that the actual photographer that we had was "building her portfolio" with Jerome's family... thus why we only had two pictures of our groomsmen with Jerome. Yup... I said it.... and I won't take it back unless I'm proven wrong.... but she was defiantly building her portfolio.... there is no way to deny that one.
After that we hung out at my Mom and Dad's and then headed over to The Monty Crews place. We were just in time to catch a glimpse of Mads... what a cutie pie. And of course Miles was trailing behind his Momma... I went inside to find little Dawson upset because everyone had left him. I picked him up and thought back to the last time I held him... met him. He was a "fresh, new baby"... only about a week or two old when The Monty's came to visit us and head to a concert while Jerome and I babysat the kidlets. He's so big!
While we were there Susha asked if I would be Delaney's "fairy godmother"... I mean God Mother. Of course I said yes and will try my best to fulfill my required duties of being at as many events as I can.... wooohooo... God Baby # 3!!!!
Momma Monty (Trisha) and Papa Monty (Andy) along with Miles and Dawson went with Jerome and I to take in some wings at The Bar. It was Double Bubble so there was some great Margaritas for Jerome and I. Then we headed to a cute little coffee shop where a friend of the Monty's had a gig. We ended up back at their house and watched a movie and then left out.
Saturday we hung around Mom and Dad's and visited with my sister and her family. That night Mom, PJM and I played a fun game of Triple Solitaire while Jerome watched some crazy shows... maybe they weren't crazy but the sounds of them sure were since we couldn't take our eyes off the board in fear of loosing!
Sunday we headed back home. It was nice to be back home. I worked in the garage a bit to get ready for the garage sale that is quickly approaching. I priced some stuff... and still have two or three boxes yet to price that is out in the garage. We were planning on seeing Pirates while we were out of town and didn't get around to doing that.
Monday we went to Anna's for a BBQ in the afternoon. We decided we would go see Pirates for a matinee and left. I asked Jerome if he thought JST would like to go and he thought she may. We headed over to see if she wanted to go... but then our plans were changed when she stepped out of the door. Oh what a belly she is getting! We had to take her to buy some clothes that would cover her expanding baby belly... so still no pirates. We headed home and thought about what we would do for dinner.
Lisa called me and asked if we wanted to come over for a BBQ that she and her soon to be hubby (in 4 count them 4 days) we starting. But of course! The only thing was that I had to work on Tuesday as did she. We ended up not leaving their house until way past my bed time for a "school" night. Boy was I tired this morning.... so tired that I had to crawl my butt back into bed for two more hours before heading to work after I sent an email to my co-workers. Ugh.
This week I've got a few things that I need to accomplish:
- I need to get my "bridal emergency bag" together... you know all the possible things that could go wrong which hopefully never do on the wedding day... nail polish, sewing kit, band aids, etc etc since Lisa and Rod's wedding is this weekend.
- Write my Matron of Honor toast... yep... just like when I had a report due for school... waiting till the very last minuet!
- Pedicure with my Hubby on Friday
- Get Jerome's suit all set once he finds all the pieces
- Get all of my items ready for the wedding

Lisa's Bachelorette Party
WE LOVE MONICA :)
Monday, May 07, 2007
More guests in town...
We waited for The Monty's since they had purchased our tickets so that we could all be seated together. Finally Susha called and asked where we were... we saw them standing at the corner of the landmark that I gave them looking for us. I told Susha to turn around, keep turning, keep turning... (making a full turn around!)... then she spotted us and headed our way.
We made our way into the stadium with our tickets in hand. We also made a whole lap around the stadium... thanks to Andy's guided tour :) Tee heee! Jerome went in and found four seats - ends up there wasn't assigned seats for our section - what do you expect for $10??? The three of us went and picked up some food and drinks and then headed up.
They stayed at our house Friday night and when we awoke on Saturday morning I thought to myself I wonder what I should make for breakfast. I went to the cupboards... hummm only enough pancake mix for two people. Went to the fridge... only four eggs... enough for two people... checked the milk - we could always just have a bowl of cereal... only enough for one person... JEEEEZE! Andy saved the day by heading over to Mickey D's for some breakfast... yummy!
I checked for when the nail shop opened - 9:30 a.m. We planned to get there shortly after they opened... and we did. Trisha and I both got pedis I couldn't wait. The guys ended up going after Trisha eBay winnings an hour north of us. Her kids better be on their best behavior... momma got them some nice things this weekend!
After our pedis we looked around Bloomington to see if we could find any dumpster treasures in the daylight... on pick up day. We didn't have much luck - I wish she could have seen it on Thursday... she would have died! We decided to go on a quick shopping trip into Target, I picked up some coals for the grill. Then I showed her The Avenue. Great store for big girls and plenty of sale items!

We headed home and started getting food ready for lunch. Brats and hamburgers on the grill. I ran to the store to pick up milk, eggs, tomatoes and potato chips. This way I was set for Sunday's breakfast! After dinner they hung out for a bit and then headed over to their hotel for Saturday night after their concert. Sounds like it was pretty posh.Jerome and I headed to Anna's to take her the twin bed that we use to have in our 2nd bedroom in the apartment. It was originally hers and she let us borrow it for when we had guest or the girls over night. Jerome helped her switch the locks on the bedroom doors (one had a lock and one didn't) and Chris made himself at home in his new bed. We watched Firehouse Dog and then left out.
We headed home and I started cleaning up the kitchen to prep for Sunday's breakfast with The Monty's. We made plans to have omelets in the morning. They were bringing the bacon and juice, I was supplying the eggs and veggies. I chopped up the veggies and shredded the cheese. I also set the table and got the coffee pot ready. I headed to bed around 2 a.m.
I woke up Sunday morning and was brushing my teeth as they called to find out if we were up yet or not. But of course! The headed over and breakfast started. The winds started to pick up while we sat at the kitchen table chatting and while Jerome was eating since he was the last to have his omelet made. It sounded like the house was shifting from the wind, the lites even flickered a few times (I'm sure it had nothing to do with cutting limbs down last weekend... wink wink!).
At one point I got up and walked into the living room... and then I noticed... two huge limbs from the tree that is between our house and our neighbors had broken off and were sitting in our driveway. Oh boy! Well at least The Monty's had pulled their van up to our garage... imagine if they had just left it near our front door vs. our back door... well I'd be writing a totally different post! The guys got up and hauled the branches to our backyard. And the Monty's left out of town while they could. Jerome went back to eating his omelet and I went a picked up other sticks that had fallen from all of our trees.
I told Jerome they should have just put it between our houses instead of our backyard... what were we going to do with it... we couldn't cut it up! So he and I hauled it to the grass between our houses and told the neighbors son about it. He came right out with his chainsaw and chopped it up. We picked up the rest of the yard and Jerome told me he was heading to St. Paul to pick up JST.I stayed home and chatted with the neighbors since it seemed like everyone was out picking up their yard. To bad the dumpster crew picked up on Saturday - lots of people had tons of sticks and limbs to go out!
JST came to our house and hung out for a good bit. She and I chatted while Jerome mowed the lawn. For those of you who have been wondering.... JST is the mommy to be. Yup, I'll be a grandma before I'm a real momma! We caught up about things going on in her life, how she's feeling and we even took some belly pics. The photo is manipulated to protect her privacy. She's five months and is due Sept. 25th. She seems very happy... I hope she stays that way.She looked at our wedding pictures that I had out on the table since we are going to be ordering them in two weeks. She asked why some were glossy vs. matte. WHAT?!?!?! Oh good lord. Here I or Jerome had mixed up the original pictures with some that we had reprinted. Big no no since we needed to bring the originals to the shop to order. We figured everything out... thank goodness but without JST looking at the photos we could have had some big issues with the photography people (not that we haven't already!)
All in all it was a pretty good weekend. I even managed to cut some lilacs for inside the house and plant the rest of my peas in my garden.
Oh shooot... that's another thing. When my parents were in town last weekend we tried to help one of my purple lilac trees from growing into the while lilac bush. Well perhaps we shouldn't have helped it by tying it to the fence... one of the limbs busted in the wind storm. I don't know if lilacs will "regrow" or not... but I stuck it in the ground in hopes that it would... we will see!

Last Two Weeks at a Glance
Thursday was dumpster dive nite, round one. I picked up a few things but I am now in the search for specific things. I went out by myself and met up with Holly, Sheri and Sheri's mom. We had a blast as usual. Holly ended up leaving early while I helped Sheri and her mom fit everything into Sheri's car. Now mind you I was still in search of baby things... more to come soon, I promise. We ended up splitting up again and I found a great shelf unit 3 tier and plenty of other things.
Friday I left work early for an eye appointment. I was suppose to get my eyes dilated... but I had to have them do that next time since I HAD TO go dumpster diving with Jerome! I had to be able to see... jeeze! So we went out afterwards and checked things out. We found a bassinet which was the big hit item. We went home and picked up around the house since I found out that mom and dad were coming up for the weekend once I checked my email when we got home.
Saturday was Lisa's first bridal shower. She picked me up and we headed to Walgreen's to meet up with Rod's mom and sister. They followed us to the shower. It was pretty fun and yes, we played the orange game that we played at my bridal shower that she threw with Anna for me. We drove to my house and I called Jerome on the way. He was dropping off all these wonderful baby items to the "mommy to be" and was suppose to be back by 1:00 in case mom and dad arrived a little early. He wasn't there! Ughhh... So Lisa put the petal to the metal and we made it home all of 5 to 10 minuets before my parents arrived. She had planned to go on eBay at my house to order some petals for the center pieces... while we were online she noticed that she forgot shipping charges... she's double checking prices before we order them online.
FINALLY Jerome arrived and he could help him. Whew. They cut down two big branches that, when looking up from the ground didn't look so big... but once they came shooting down from the sky were plenty big and now our neighbor will have some firewood for her fireplace.
Once that part was done we started on the front lawn. Dad yanked out the Christmas tree that was hitting the underside of the house (eaves?) Mom and I and Jerome got to hacking at the shrubs in the front also. We cleaned everything up with the blower and were going to get dinner going, or so I thought. Mom and I had gone into the garage to put the blower away and I showed her the edger that I had found while dumpster diving. She told me to bring it out to the front yard to see if it worked. Well it did. So now I guess we are keeping it!
Sunday Dad and Jerome installed our "new to us" stove... it's electric instead of gas. So they had to cap the gas line and install some sort of a plug and wire it all to the box which if you know my house is waaaaaay on the other end of the house from the kitchen. Mom and I worked on transplanting the hostas and ran to a few stores looking at plants to put in place of the Christmas tree... I'm thinking a flowering plant or bush. Anyone have anything they want to get rid of???? We started my garden - two pepper plants. Mom raked it and I put up the wire fencing that I picked up while dumpster diving this year.
We grilled out for the first time this year on Sunday as well. We ate outside on the deck and kicked back with a few beers. Jerome and I had to work on Monday and that's when Mom and Dad were leaving. Of course when it came time for me to get up and get moving I didn't want to. Plus, Mom and Dad were still at the house. So, I took a 1/2 day - took a nap in the morning and got my hair cut and then worked from home in the afternoon.
Tuesday I had a taste test in St. Paul. Funny thing is, when I got there I was told that they had ran out of testing items so they gave me my $30 check and I was on my way. Wooo hoo! Now if that wasn't the easiest $30 I ever made! I hung out with Lisa afterwards and did some wedding shopping with her. I picked up some Hickory Hut wings, okra, and Hojos. YUM-O!

Wednesday we set out our stuff for our dumpster day pick up which is this Saturday. We bundled the rest of the tree limbs together with the handy dandy rope that I picked up while dumpster diving.
And that's that... your two weeks at a glance... now onto today..... and the pictures will come eventually to give you more ideas as to what this post really means!

Dress is in!
Lisa and I went to the store and I tried it on with the shoes we picked out the day we saw Elvis at the mall. Surprisingly enough I will only need a small alteration instead of what we previously were thinking... $$$ gets to stay in my pocket... wooo hooo!
